About Us
I began cake decorating in 1994 while attending the University of Georgia in Athens. I learned the high volume, commercial bakery business at Publix, while earning my degree in Child and Family Development. After moving to Blairsville in 2000, I accepted a position with DFCS while doing cakes on the side. I opened a commercial bakery in 2004 and moved it in 2006 after discovering I was pregnant with twins. I now have a private cake studio where I can design cakes for all of your special occassions.
I am constantly looking for the latest techniques and continue to study through an organization called ICES (International Cake Exploration Society). I attend annual conventions and quarterly meetings where we often have the opportunity to learn from the world’s greatest sugar and pastry artisans. I have had the privilege of taking classes with world reknowned cake decorators, such as Nicholas Lodge, Colette Peters, Rebecca Sutterby, Buddy Valastro (the Cake Boss), Ron Ben Israel, James Roselle, and Keith Ryder, to name a few. I am blessed to have this opportunity to share my passion for the sugar arts with our small mountain community!
